We visited Patheson Public School NO.2.(3/21/2208)
On the 12th, we visited Ms. Amy Vaughan's 2nd grade class at George Washington Elementary
School(K-3 School) at Mahwah in NJ. The students leaned to use the number line to solve
2-digit subtraction probrems. In addition they explored alternative ways to decompose
the subtrahend. In this way, the students are able to individually choose a solution method,
which is simple, accurate and interesting for them.

We visited Patheson Public School NO.2.(3/21/2208)
On February 11th, Suken made a visit to Paterson Public School No.2(K-8 School)
at Paterson in New Jersey where we observed a 6th grade math class taught by Mr.Bill Jackson.
The lecture was on students needing to solve how many squares could be made using sticks.
This lesson was to teach the students to use functional thinking to solve matehmatical problems.
We had a wonderful experience to see the students communicate and think mathematically.
